Modules are planned over the course of a year, generally on alternate months and avoiding as far as possible known periods of difficult release (e.g. common company shut-downs and school holidays).

The time between modules allows for some preparation and also for the execution of workplace assignments. Completed assignments to the equivalent of 14 hours between modules is the minimum requirement for successful completion of the programme. It is recognised, however, that some candidates will be capable of achieving more than this and additional projects are made available to those able to exploit them.
